What a glorious day! Yesterday (Easter) we had church as we always do. But this was the greatest service of worship that our church has seen in my tenure here. We can attribute this to a lot of things.
For starters…the praise team did 4 new songs on Sunday. They are all volunteers and work very hard to bless our congregation. Without their great ministry, Easter would have been missing something.
Maybe some of it had to do with the fact that we were worshiping nearly 2 times as many people as we normally do. Praise God! People we have never met…family that have never graced the doors of our church…and long-time friends who have been absent for quite some time.
Maybe some of it had to do with my increased passion for the day. Maybe some of it had to do with the newly organized order of worship. Maybe some of it had to do with the weather. Or…maybe some of it had to do with my super-humorous jokes at the beginning of the message (probably not).
What really caused it though…is quite simple. We gathered together for church…and the Ressurection happened. Jesus showed up! I remember standing in front of all the seats and invoking the Holy Spirit upon our worship space before anyone arrived and Christ responded in amazingly powerful ways on Sunday!
Praise God! He is risen…and He is still making post-Ressurection appearances today! Isn’t that Good News? That is a Good News I can get excited about.
